 We suggest that you subtract 24" from the leader that you presently use. This allows for the added tippet and makes the overall length something you are comfortable with.
Please note that these are suggested uses for the various materials and that taper type is independent of actual taper build (i.e. stage locations, turn ratios, and pre-load).  These factors are used along with rod actions, casting styles, and rod lengths in custom taper formulas.
